Here's a story of a "learning disabled" teenager who finds a bag of money tossed by a drug dealer and what does he do?  He gives it away to people around him. Now that would be a great story and a happy ending for money procured by a drug dealer to end up in the hands of regular folks struggling to get by in a Minnesota town.

But wait, there's more. Police were called in, discovered some drug paraphernalia at the ditch where the teen found the money and determined the sack of money came from a drug dealer. So what did they do? They found all the people who had been given money from this drug dealer sack and CONFISCATED IT.

So now, the money I suppose will sit in some evidence vault for years and ultimately will end up in the hands of the State Treasury.  THIS is what is wrong with this country. WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THESE COPS?  Oh I am sure they felt justified because the money is after all "evidence".. but what is wrong with taking some of the money as evidence, noting the approximate amount that was in the sack and just letting this kid do good deeds giving money away to friends and family?

What did that teach the kid? To not tell anyone he found something and next time swear everyone to secrecy if he gives them something he found.  He was innocent before this happened. Now he is not. Now he knows that good deeds don't go unpunished. How do you think it made the bus driver feel when they ratted out that she had stashed some of the cash in a bag?  Do you think maybe she really NEEDED that money and what better purpose could have come from this drug money then helping people in the community - in these bad economic times? Isn't this what Obama wants to do with OUR money??? But if WE do it it's not ok I guess.

I could just spit at the lack of common sense in this world today. Sometimes doing what is right is not what you are "supposed" to do. The right thing for this police department to have done was LOOK THE OTHER WAY AND LET THIS KID FEEL GOOD ABOUT HELPING OTHERS. But we all know helping others is only the job of the GOVERNMENT now apparently. We don't know enough to help each other. We must let the government take care of us. BULLSHIT.
