So apparently Kristin Gillibrand and Chucky Schumer have recommended that a Latino be chosen for the Supreme Court. Can you IMAGINE if they had said they were recommending a White be chosen?  What exactly does one's race have to do with being qualified for the Supreme Court???  Are we making a quilt of many colors or are we choosing the BEST QUALIFIED person to serve on this WAY TOO POWERFUL court?

This entire case is a tragic showcase of a government that has lost it's morals, it's mind and it's compassion. We may never know what was behind this ridiculous prosecution, based SOLEY upon the testimony of the illegal alien drug dealer that Ramos and Compean were pursuing when he was CAUGHT crossing the border with a van full of 750 pounds or so of marijuana in it.

I love when people forget that their spoken words in a campaign are enshrined forever on the Internet and that is the case with Michele Obama who had this to say in July of 2008 about the Bush stimulus of $600 paid in a lump sum:

"You're getting $600 - what can you do with that?" Mrs. Obama said in Pontiac, Michigan last week. "Not to be ungrateful or anything, but maybe it pays down a bill, but it doesn't pay down every bill every month. The short-term quick fix kinda stuff sounds good, and it may even feel good that first month when you get that check, and then you go out and you buy a pair of earrings."

I'm sure this story is not an isolated incident and there are lots of people who are profiting on the basis of their power. In this case, it was the power to convict youth of crimes and have them sent to a facility to "treat" them - when in reality, the youth are just heads to count so the facility can get more money from the government.

Seems the criminal justice system, like our hospital system, has become a "for-profit" system and that means that fairness and objectivity go right out the window. There is a profit motive for putting youth and adults in prison now and it seems the judges are cashing in on that wave of profit.

I am a native Pennsylvanian and Arlen Specter has been the Republican Senator in Pennsylvania since time began it seems. One problem is - he does not represent Repbulicans OR Conservatives in Pennsylvania. He is like stale bread. He only represents his own selfish interests and earmarks and this latest traitorous act - giving the Democrats his vote to pass the Spendulus bill - shows he is way past his "good" date and needs to be turned out to pasture on his way to the big ole GLUE FACTORY for old used up politicians.

So they have postponed talking about the bank bailout - featuring tax cheat Timothy Geithner - because they don't want to distract from the goal of getting even more taxpayer money into their hands. When are YOU going to say enough is enough? Isn't it time for a Boston Tea Party folks?  How much more in a corner are you going to let them paint you. They have already taken your jobs and now they are taking your money, your kids money and your grandkids money - to spend on saving the very same corrupt bankers and mortgage companies and favorite liberal social programs. They don't want to give you a CHOICE in which charitable organization gets your donations. In this SPENDULUS bill they are CHOOSING THAT FOR YOU.
